The Efficacy of the Excitement Approach in Regulating Excitement, Sexual Satisfaction and Adaptation of Couples with Low Space Child

Abstract

Background and aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of training with emotion focused method on emotion regulation and marital adjustment and sexual satisfaction in couples with low space child.

Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental research including a pre-test, a post-test with the control group. The statistical population included all couples with low space child of Oshnavyeh city. The study sample consisted of 16 young couples (in experimental group, n=8 and control group, n=8), that were selected using available sampling. All subjects using Spanier Marital adjustment (1976) and cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire (2001) and Larson sexual satisfaction questionnaire” were assessed and randomly divided to two groups of intervention and control. Eight sessions of intervention was launched and multivariate analysis of covariance method was used for measuring effectiveness of intervention program on young couples.

Results: The results suggested that there is significant effect on intervention group in marital adjustment and emotion regulation and sexual satisfaction.

Conclusion: As a conclusion the article says that the emotion focused method can be used as an efficient way to increase marital adjustment, sexual adjustment and emotion regulation in young couples.
