SRTM supports the rapid sharing of research and encourages authors to deposit their manuscripts in preprint servers and institutional repositories. This policy outlines the conditions under which different versions of an author's manuscript may be shared publicly.
Definition of Manuscript Versions
Preprint: The author's original version of the manuscript before peer review.
Author's Accepted Manuscript (AAM) / Postprint: The version accepted for publication after peer review and incorporation of reviewer comments, but before copyediting, typesetting, and proofing by the publisher.
Version of Record (VoR): The final, published, typeset, and paginated version as it appears on the SRTM website.
Policy on Preprint Servers
SRTM permits the submission of preprints to recognized preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, bioRxiv, medRxiv, SSRN) prior to or concurrently with submission to the journal. This is not considered prior publication.
Upon submission to SRTM, authors must disclose the existence of any preprint versions and provide a link to it.
If the manuscript is accepted and published in SRTM, authors must update the preprint record with a direct link to the final published article (Version of Record), including the DOI.
Policy on Institutional and Subject Repositories
Accepted Manuscript (AAM): May be deposited immediately upon publication of the Version of Record. There is no embargo period.
Version of Record (VoR): May be deposited immediately in an institutional repository. Authors must use the CC BY-NC 4.0 license and provide a full citation and link to the article on the SRTM website.
